After maintenance, or installing a new pump on a baseplate, it is important to verify the pump is properly mounted to avoid rotating in the wrong direction. All Chemac, Inc. manufacturers mark equipment in the driving direction the pump must rotate. Why is this important? For URACA pumps it is important as the crankshaft properly lubricates the entire power end. For Bungartz centrifugal pumps this is important to ensure the impeller does not back off. For Gather pumps, this is important to ensure proper internal flow, insuring cooling and lubrication of the bearings. If in doubt about the direction of rotation of equipment, whether URACA, Bungartz or Gather, contact us and we will be happy to assist. We also highly recommend our field service technician to be present to avoid any common issues at startup. Please don’t run in the wrong direction😊.
