Chemac, Inc. encourages the use of its acreage to be used for growing trees, plants, and foods. The initiative allows employees to request a plot of Chemac, Inc. select acreage to be used for any approved chickens, plants or other environmentally friendly and sustainable activity. Employees who don’t have room at home can take advantage of this program to grow any legal and approved vegetables, trees or garden variety plants.
Employees are able to care for their crops/plants at their expense and outside of work hours. Even chickens are approved if they do not interfere with operations or are a hazard to the jobsite. To date, employees planted and took advantage of this program with fig, peach and pear trees and many other plants. The program ensures soil around Chemac, Inc. locations remains unspoiled and clean for plants and crops to thrive. The program has been a success from the start and allows employees to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
