2019 San Antonio Chemac Seminar

May 12, 2019 – Upper Saddle River NJ

From April 15 to 19, CHEMAC held a successful UREA focused Training Seminar in San Antonio, Texas. The turn out was was better than past programs, including participants from four different countries and nearly all the major North American fertilizer plants. Attendees included maintenance engineers, QC service technicians, plant managers, design engineers, plant maintenance, design teams & machinists from existing plants and newly constructed UAN plants utilizing ammonia & carbamate applications. We also welcomed plants using large industrial Uraca pumps for other, non-UAN applications. Speakers included Chemac OEMs: Mr. Gunter Stoehr (CEO of URACA), Mr. Dirk Schmidt, Global Export Manager of Kempchen Gaskets, and Mr. Frank Bungartz, CEO of Bungartz Centrifugal Pumps.

The seminar allowed attendees to learn more about high-pressure pumps, valves, sealing technology, other accessories and equipment for the safe, reliable and productive operation of plants. Additionally, the design features of the URACA pumps and their use and maintenance were discussed. Safety, troubleshooting, maintenance as well as the optimal equipment selection were covered in various topics. The professional audience received a lot of information about their equipment and the opportunity to network directly with OEMS. Chemac’s customers commented that this was one of the best-organized seminars they have attended and they look forward to the next technical seminar. Chemac plans to continue this seminar series as customer demands increase for professional training. Keeping teams properly trained can improve equipment life, safety, and margins via improved efficiency.

San Antonio, “ranked by Conde Nast Traveler as the #2 U.S. travel destination, and the #9 worldwide destination” made the venue perfect for this event. The seminar included a tour of the Alamo, which is unquestionably the most famous of the five Spanish missions that make up the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Site, and a boat tour of the famous San Antonio Riverwalk, along with dinner at a traditional restaurant. All event tours are designed to allow special personal time to network with Chemac, OEMS and other plant personnel. These events are ideal for addressing questions in a “non-public” platform and making new contacts.

We would like to thank our attendees and sponsors who made this premier educational event possible. Below are some images of the event:
